Visa issues

The LOC has learned that some in-person registrants CAN NOT obtain short term visiting visas in the following two cases:

  • In some countries (e.g. India), the Korean consulates stopped issuing all short term visas for the time being.
  • In some countries, persons not satisfying the “two-year residence” requirement cannot apply for a short term visitor visa in their residence countries.

The LOC and the IAU have looked into this problem upon inquiries from some  SOCs. In short, these immigration regulations are beyond our control and we do not have any power to influence them. Unfortunately, in these circumstances, the registrants have to participate in the GA2022 only remotely. If you have faced this problem, please, follow the next update from the LOC and IAU.
